July & August 2024

A Word From Jake:

My sincerest apologies for not posting a LINKZ-Letter in July! As we get back into the swing of things, I'd like to take a moment to "reset" - as this has been an incredibly busy time for me (personally and professionally), I've come to take more stock in the importance of making sure that I'm checking in with everyone, listening to our organization's needs, and managing effectively and efficiently. With the beginning of the school year fast approaching - along with the changes to contracts and general workflow - I'm sure that many of you will have questions, concerns, feedback, etc. While I'll be connecting with everyone individually over the coming months, I would greatly appreciate your 100% anonymous feedback using this link. The form should take only a minute or two of your time, but will provide invaluable information on how we can take LINKZ forward over the coming school year. Thank you all for your dedication and continued efforts to make LINKZ what it is today!

LINKZ Updates:

TutorCruncher:

- Last Thursday, August 1st, we had another VERY busy day at our Columbia office! This is another appeal to put your hours in as early as you can... with this in mind: it only "works" if everyone puts their hours in ahead of time! TutorCruncher will tell you if there's not enough space in the office, but only if the system sees that the rooms are booked - so while you'll essentially be "reserving" space for you and your client, you'll also be doing the kindness of letting your colleagues know that there's no space available. So please, be consider being considerate to your clients and your colleagues by putting your hours (and locations) in as early as you can!

Office:

- Contracts are the major ongoing and upcoming change; my thanks to all tutors (around 80% or so) who have signed and submitted their renewed contracts with LINKZ! If you haven't signed yours yet (and haven't let me know that you're still reviewing it), please do so as soon as possible - we need them signed and filed by August 25th to align with our new Client Agreements. Speaking of...

- Client Agreements will begin to go out to clients within the next 48 hours! A blank/generic copy of the Client Agreement has been posted on the Tutor Portal for you to peruse. If you have specific questions about the language (and have not already let me know), please don't hesitate to reach out. These Agreements will include the subjects and rates you've specified for Michelle; if you need to amend those subjects/rates, please let Michelle know immediately. They will take effect on August 25th, and will be sent to you to review/sign before they are fully finalized. Additionally, parents will be receiving the following email:

Dear Parent,

We hope this message finds you well! At LINKZ, we are incredibly grateful for your continued trust and support in our tutoring services. We value the opportunity to work with your children and contribute to their academic success.

We are writing to inform you that we will be soon be sending out Client Agreements for your review and signature by August 25th. This is an important step in ensuring clarity and transparency in our working relationship.

For many of you who have received Client Agreements from us in the past, please note that these agreements will now be coming directly from LINKZ rather than from your individual tutor. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our processes and provide a more cohesive experience for you.

For those of you who have not received a Client Agreement before, these documents outline the specific work, rates, and cancellation policies of your tutor. Importantly, please understand that signing this agreement does not commit you to any specific number of sessions, and you are free to end the tutoring arrangement at any time.

Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@linkzedu.com. Thank you once again for being a part of the LINKZ family; we look forward to continuing our work together and supporting your child's educational journey!

Workshops:

- We'll be starting up Learning @ LINKZ again in September; please be on the lookout for an email / update on the Tutor Portal with more information soon.
