Jake's Thoughts on Counseling

Now, more than ever, we need time and space to process our place in the world. Nothing is more valuable than the practice of self-care in a safe space, which oftentimes feels like a luxury we can't afford. Whether we're busy juggling our personal and professional lives, our relationships with our time to "recharge", or our ever-fluctuating sense of self, we often find reasons to just put our heads down and... grind through it. Maybe no one has ever told you this: you deserve support. You deserve to be heard, fully, with no judgement, shame, or pathology. You deserve to learn more about who you are and who you want to become, and here's the key: you have the answers inside you! You are the expert of your life and your experiences; my job is to compassionately witness and provide unconditional positive regard for your story. If these statements resonate with you, know that I am excited to provide support, guidance, comfort, and safety for you on your journey.

Insurance

Counseling @ LINKZ is an out-of-network provider, which means that we do not bill insurance companies directly and services are self-pay. If you are interested in using your health insurance, please call your insurance provider to inquire about reimbursement for out-of-network counseling services.

At times insurance plans request upfront billing codes.  You can share this list of codes for their approval:

90837 • Psychotherapy, 53 minutes

90847 • Family Psychotherapy, conjoint psychotherapy with patient present

90846 • Family Psychotherapy, without patient present

90887 • Collateral visit

When using out-of-network benefits, Counseling @ LINKZ can provide you with a monthly document called a "superbill". The superbill will look like an invoice, but also contain the service codes, dates of treatment, and amounts paid during therapy. You can then submit this superbill to your plan directly, who would then directly reimburse you.

Data, Records, & Billing

Counseling @ LINKZ utilizes a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted, electronic medical record (EMR) called SimplePractice. This EMR holds all of your mental health records safely in it, and also provides you with a link to your own client portal. There, you can fill in demographic information, complete / sign intake documents, and access documents like your invoices and superbills. SimplePractice also utilizes a secure credit card processing system; when you add a credit card, you will enrolled in an autopay system that, for your convenience, charges your card after each session and/or for late cancellation fees. Counseling @ LINKZ has a 24-hour cancelation policy, whereby the entire session fee of $110/$175 will be charged if a change/cancellation is made in less than 24 hours notice. Exceptions may be made for emergencies, such as sudden illness or an accident. It should be noted that insurance does not reimburse for canceled sessions.
