August 2025

A Word From Jake:

Happy August everyone! As the new school year begins, please make sure you're getting everything together (scheduling, availabilities, new contracts if necessary, etc.) and keeping our leadership team informed. If anyone needs anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me - my goal is to facilitate your success!

LINKZ Updates:

TutorCruncher:

- Important: If you're changing your rates for the new school year, please note that 30 days from now means that the new rate will not take effect until our September 24, 2025 payroll. You only have a week or so before the raise starts in October, so please make those changes now!

- It seems like there are a lot of potential hours that haven't been logged in for August; if you have yet to do so, please get those hours logged as soon as possible. Getting hours into TutorCruncher earlier saves everyone time and energy!

- Regarding first meetings with a new client: remember that if you're working on content, it's a billable session. If you wish to provide time to get to know a client and/or student, I would cap that at 10-15 minutes. You might also consider using the first 10 minutes of a billable session for that purpose. If you're doing work, you need to be compensated!

Office:

- All LINKZ Columbia printers are now fixed!

- I'll be leaving a permanent link to the LINKZ Handbook in this section, in case you need any reminders on policies, rules, regulations, etc. If you need a reminder of your login information, please email Michelle. Here's the link!

- I'll also be leaving some permanent reminders here, as they're always important:

- Don’t start with a client until you have signed contract!

- Please remember that, when you receive a new client, you need to make contact with that client within 24 hours. It's important to make that initial contact right away, so if you're unable to, please let your case manager know.

- Put any in-office hours into TutorCruncher at least a week in advance!

- Our offices are open 24/7/365!

- If you’re making any semi-permanent or permanent changes with a client (changing times, subjects, etc.) you must let your case manager know first!

- If you have questions about something, check the manual and/or email me, Michelle, Elisa, Jenn, or Carolyn!

Workshops:

- Our first Learning @ LINKZ of the new school year, Games Sharing & Helpful Hints For Working With Clients, will be held at the LINKZ Columbia office on Wednesday, September 3rd at 6 PM. Please join us!
